Founded on February 25, 2004, UP Cinema is a university-wide film organization based in the College of Mass Communication in UP Diliman that promotes progressive and alternative cinematic practices in various film disciplines such as filmmaking, film appreciation, and film criticism. It aims to redefine cinema beyond the takes and the lights and reimagine the medium as a formative art that serves in building communities and relationships.
Aside from providing maximum exposure to the multi-faceted process of filmmaking, UP Cinema also aims to establish a familial bond of friendship among its members where everyone can share freely without any fear of judgment.
